Infinity Knot

It is a special type of handfasting and follows the same principle.

Just like the ribbons, the cords can represent the natural elements, and thus the blessing of nature, or the virtues given by the people involved in the ritual (e.g., witnesses, parents, children, etc.).

Once the colored cords are placed on the joined hands of the couple, the celebrant will tie them in a special knot, forming the shape of the infinity symbol.

Here is the meaning of the colors used in the variant of the symbolic handfasting ritual, when they represent the human values given to the couple.

• Red: passion and desire

• Orange: vitality

• Yellow: trust and joy

• Blue: sincerity and patience

• Green: health and fertility

• Purple: wisdom

• Black: stability

• White: purity and peace

• Brown: home and earth

• Gray: balance

• Pink: tenderness and romance

• Silver: creativity

• Gold: prosperity
